Four class reward systems you might want to try

Reveal a prize

Choose a mystery prize for your class. Write the words up on the whiteboard or on a wall display, ‘Hangman Style’.

Pupils earn letters to gradually reveal the prize underneath. When the mystery is solved, the pupils get their reward. Happy pupils = happy teachers!

There are many other ways you could go about rewards too. Older children may enjoy the process of designing a system and engage with the discussion about expectations and what has to be done to earn recognition. In the end, any good reward system should be positive and purposeful and reinforce desired, and mutually understood, behaviours.

A final thought. I also make a point to avoid taking rewards away from pupils.

So, there you go. Hopefully there is something there that you might be able to introduce and use.
