Idea: Opening a door to reading

Some ideas are just too nice not to share!

The children at Mandy’s school enjoyed a neat activity for World Book Day that could be adapted to work anytime of the school year or for different topics.

They turned their classroom doors into book covers!

Each class had used a different technique to create their door. The collage of individual model sea creatures for the ‘Tiddler – The Storytelling Fish’ door is particularly nice.

This proved an exciting and creative activity and was carried out in house teams. It was accessible and enjoyed by the children of all ages which brought them together as they celebrated their love of favourite stories and characters.
