4. Birthday Display

A birthday planner

Not an essential display by any means but creating a space in the classroom displaying the months of the year and inserting each child’s birthday can allow for a little welcoming discussion on day one. It shows the children that they are part of the classroom. In younger classes, it can be lovely to watch them look out for their name and their friends names too! A nice extra touch can be to add a little photo beside their name.

You can find calendar templates online or make your own. It can be as simple as an A4 document with boxes to fill in for each month.

If you are new to the school, you should be able to get the student information you need, such as birthdays, from the office.
