6. Dynamic grouping
WHY:
Classroom groupings may become regular seating patterns and the opportunities to have students that are best suited to work together on a particular aspect of a topic or activity may be missed.
TRY:
Use probing questions early in a lesson to reveal any diversity in ideas and misunderstanding. Use this to dynamically assign groups. You may choose to collect all the students you need to work with together or co-opt students who have a solid understanding to sit with groups to help them with a task, freeing you to work with others.
