Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community.
- Introduce students to the concept of charity (Zakat) and kindness, which are central to Ramadan. Create a class kindness calendar for the month, where each day has a small, thoughtful task, such as “Help a friend” or “Share something with someone in need.” Link this to the importance of giving back to the community.
- Show students how to make traditional Ramadan lanterns (Fanous) using coloured paper and markers. These lanterns are often hung during Ramadan and symbolise light and hope.
